What Apple did to Nokia, Tesla is now doing to the motor industry John Naughton
An intriguing news item dropped into my inbox this week. It said that in the first quarter of this year, an electric vehicle (EV) had become the biggest-selling car in the world, outselling the Toyota Corolla. I know, I know, dear reader: you think this is non-news of the "Small earthquake in Chile, not many dead" variety. But to those of us condemned to follow the tech industry, three things are significant about it: the vanquished car was a Corolla, the EV was a Tesla (the Model Y hatchback), and the runner-up is made by Toyota. The poor Corolla gets a lot of disdainful looks from petrolheads, who tell rude jokes about it and view the vehicle as bland, unimaginative and boring.

This Is How Artificial Intelligence Will Change the Future for Better
In this day and age of technological advancements, people are looking for solutions to automate regular and repetitive tasks as much as possible. As such, the development of artificial intelligence algorithms has come a long way to help in automation and reduce human labor. It would give us humans enough time to focus on the development of our own skills and pursue our dreams and aspirations. With the potential artificial intelligence has shown, many industries are bound to change their working strategies and rules. Industries will change how they operate and adopt newer and more efficient methods which depend on AI algorithms. The application of Artificial Intelligence to automate medical procedures and negate possible complications is not a new idea.

Council Post: Three Ways AI Is Impacting The Automobile Industry
Wendy Gonzalez is the CEO of Sama, the provider of accurate data for ambitious AI. Autonomous cars are as intrinsic to visions of the future as holograms and space travel. Since the birth of science fiction, the automobile has been seen as the final frontier of technological innovation. However, when we look around at our cities today, cars can often seem stuck in the past. The reality is that the vision for the automotive industry has far exceeded the pace of its progress.

AI Drivers v/s Human Truck Drivers: Who will Win the On-Road Race?
The advancements in artificial intelligence, IoT, computer vision, and other advanced technologies are driving automation in multiple industries across the world. But there has been a concern regarding the replacement of human employees for AI smart functionalities. Thus, it has also affected the automobile industry, especially the community of human truck drivers. There have been some improvements from multiple self-driving truck companies that are launching autonomous trucks. Let's explore who will win the on-road race-- AI drivers or human truck drivers in 2022 and beyond.
AI in Automobile Industry
Vehicle manufacturers may use AI-powered solutions and machine learning algorithms to optimize production processes, speed up data categorization during risk assessments, and evaluate vehicle damage, among other things. In the automotive and many other industries, Robotics solutions and AI systems based on technologies like natural language processing, computer vision, and conversational interfaces are used very frequently. Nvidia's Quadro RTX graphics card, for example, leverages AI to speed up design procedures dramatically. There are companies like Rethink Robotics that create collaborative robots which can handle heavy materials and verify manufactured parts. Automobile manufacturers must be able to track every step of a component's travel and know when to expect it to arrive at the destination factory.

10 AI Innovations that are Transforming the Automobile Industry
The industry utilizes 3D printers for creating automotive prototypes to check fitness, making aesthetically pleasant parts, designing efficient car models, and many more. One of the important technologies behind 3D printers is Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) that is used for the production as well as end-use parts in the automobile industry. Smart Helmets: Smart helmets are one of the most important AI innovation in this industry for the safety of drivers. Smart helmets are completely different from traditional helmets for the implementation of GSM and GPS technologies. Drivers are inclined towards smart helmets owing to its advanced technology to call an ambulance or a family member post-accident, the presence of operation vibration sensors, alcohol sensors, crash alerts, LED lights, and many more.

Why the Launch of Apple's Self-driving cars is Delayed?
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the new reason for massive success in the automobile industry. With the advent of the AI operating system, the industry is creating more innovative smart devices and programmes on a regular basis. Apple was motivated to invest in the autonomous driving system and launch it as Apple's self-driving cars. Project Titan was formed in 2014 and still searching for loopholes for seven years before the ultimate launch. The unique feature of Apple's self-driving cars is the power to an expensive investment on autonomous driving machine.

Position Paper: Artificial Intelligence in the automobile industry
The European Commission recently announced plans to present a horizontal proposal on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the first quarter of 2021. Moreover, the Commission might also revise existing EU legislation on product safety and liability, the Machinery Directive and its intellectual property rights regime to address potential risks stemming from AI technology. That is why the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) has developed a position paper on the approach of EU automobile manufacturers to Artificial Intelligence. ACEA believes that Artificial Intelligence holds enormous potential for the auto industry; when deployed in production and manufacturing processes, but especially when embedded in automotive technology and products such as motor vehicles. In‐vehicle AI applications for Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM) will play a crucial role in taking automated and autonomous driving to the next level.
